The WORLD ARTS AGENCY is one of only a handful of Literary Agencies on the African continent, and as a full Arts Agency, by far the most dynamic.
As a LITERARY AGENCY we represent authors from around the world (many have won national and international awards) in Literary Fiction / Genre Fiction / Poetry / Memoir as well as Life-Writing Non-fiction. We also feature two memoir-specialist Editorial Agents with Masters in English Language and Literature who work with the line and development of all chosen manuscripts, prior to going out on submission. Unique to our agency is the fact that our team act as talent managers to bring our authors and poets as much publicity, recognition, and prizes, as we possibly can. World Arts Agency is proud to have inaugurated, and manage, the prestigious James Currey Prize for African Literature and has the privilege of selecting each year’s esteemed judges. 2021 will also see the launch of our print and online literary journal, the Hotazel Review. Our headquarters, situated in the Maboneng Lifestyle Centre, Johannesburg, boasts a Boutique Bookstore through which we support our various independent publishing collaborations, as well as our own in-house independent publishing press.
As a SPEAKING AGENCY we have two full-time professional speaking agents and two junior publicity agents who negotiate on behalf of our clients for festivals, roundtables, broadcasts, podcasts and events. We also host a full production seasonal talk show with regular appearances by up-and-coming authors, musicians, and thespians. We are honoured that amongst our clients, specifically for speaking engagements, is a two-time shortlisted nominee for the Booker Prize, Chigozie Obioma.
The WORLD ARTS AGENCY also features a MUSIC LABEL and manages artistes from Africa and the Caribbean with locations in New York, Paris and Puebla. We position musical acts to appear on the most popular performance platforms and amplify their music.
We also take great pride that our agency has a FILM PRODUCTION DIVISION with completed films and documentaries, and with many more to come.
