Michèle Betty is the poetry editor of New Contrast: The South African Literary Journal and the founder of Dryad Press (Pty) Ltd, a publisher dedicated to the promotion and publication of poetry in South Africa. She has a BA LLB from the University of Witwatersrand and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town (cum laude). Her poems have appeared in journals both in South Africa and abroad and have been anthologised in The Live Canon International Poetry Competition Anthology, The Sol Plaatjie European Union Anthology and most recently in The New Century of South African Poetry (Jonathan Ball, 2018). Her work is forthcoming in 2020 as commissioned poet in I Wish I’d Said (Vol 2), published by Naledi for Avbob, as well as in Stanzas (RSA) and in the The Atlanta Review (USA). Her debut collection, Metaphysical Balm was published in March 2017.
Michèle Betty joins the World Arts Agency for collaboration with Dryad Press and as a poet in her own right. Michèle is working on her second poetry collection, which the World Arts Agency is very excited about.
